Traveling Day

Yesterday, Sunday, we visited the WWII Resistance Museum in Lyon in the morning and then we were just lazy the rest of the day.

This morning we left Lyon EARLY - we were afraid it would be as hard to find our way out of the city as it was to get in on Friday. It was easy -although, it was still dark and rainy. We headed east to Switzerland, going around the western part past Geneva and Lausanne, and then heading north to Basel. From there, we went back into France and started north following the Alsace wine route up to Strasbourg.

From Colmar north, there are the cutest villages along the wine route - lots of half-timbered buildings covered with flowers, cute little town squares, stork nests, and then beautiful vineyards in between the villages. Oh, I forgot, along the way are several castles on the hills. One particularly cute village is Eguisheim. It is as cute as can be - we took a lot of pictures. The road just has one cute town after another all the way up to Selestat. Hopefully, our pictures can give a little glimpse of how cute these villages are.....

We ended up staying here in Strasbourg which has a beautiful cathedral.
