Polish Pottery

Well, the trunk of our car is starting to sag and there is no room for my suitcase! We definitely are going to have to get rid of a lot of things before we head home on the plane. I say that by then we can just throw away all of the guidebooks, but Charlie says we are going to have throw out a lot more than that!

We really did have a great time at all of the pottery factories and shops. It is so fascinating to watch the people do the painting and hand stamping the designs. We had two tours and visited about 7 large shops. Of course, buying pottery objects at each one. There were some beautiful big bowls and casserole size ones that I would have loved to have had, but there is really no way they would make it home in a suitcase. I am pleased with the items we did get.

After shopping we roamed around the old town square and had a late lunch. We did a grocery store run for water and diet coke. We figure that they will be a lot cheaper here than in Denmark. We had a hike back into a little forest behind out hotel which was also the sandstone quarry which provided the stone for the barns/our hotel around here. This land is so flat - it is easy to see how Poland has been invaded by every country over the years.

We are going to head down to dinner now.

  1. This has been wonderful so far, thank you for including me in your blog group. Just got back from Wenatchee WA. On to Denver Sunday. When I see these buildings in your pics, it brought back memories as Sue and I were in Poland as part of our honeymoon trip 15 years ago. -Tom Watson
